Refund Policy
Clear & Fair Refund Guidelines for Snowfly Deals Travelers
This Refund Policy applies to all flight and hotel bookings made through Snowfly Deals — whether you're traveling domestically (Delhi to Goa, Mumbai to Manali, etc.) or internationally (Dubai, Thailand, Bali, Singapore). Refund eligibility depends on the policies of airlines, hotels, and other service providers. We're here to help you navigate the process.
How Refunds Work on Snowfly Deals
Snowfly Deals is a booking platform, not an airline or hotel chain. This means refund eligibility, amounts, and timelines are primarily determined by the specific airline (e.g., IndiGo, Air India, Akasa, Emirates, Qatar Airways) or hotel chain you booked with. We act as your facilitator — submitting refund requests on your behalf and tracking them until resolution. We cannot override provider policies, but we will advocate for you at every step.
When Are You Eligible for a Refund?
You may be eligible for a refund under these common scenarios:
- Fully Refundable Tickets: If you purchased a "refundable" or "flexible" fare (usually higher-priced than non-refundable options)
- Airline or Hotel Cancels Your Booking: When the service provider cancels your flight or room (not due to weather or force majeure)
- Major Schedule Change: Flight departure time changed by 3+ hours or hotel changes your room category significantly
- Medical Emergency (with documentation): Hospitalization or serious illness — subject to provider approval
- Death of Passenger or Immediate Family Member: Valid death certificate required
- Visa Denial for International Travel: Official rejection letter from embassy — applies to bookings requiring visas (e.g., Dubai, Thailand, UK, USA)
Typical Non-Refundable Bookings
The following generally do not qualify for refunds:
- Basic Economy / Super Saver fares (common with IndiGo, SpiceJet, Akasa, etc.)
- Non-refundable hotel reservations (most budget and mid-range hotels)
- Special sale or promotional packages (e.g., "Diwali Sale" or "Black Friday" deals)
- Service fees and processing charges paid to Snowfly Deals
- Travel insurance premiums once coverage begins
- No-show bookings (you didn't cancel before departure/check-in)
Refund Processing Timeline (Step by Step)
Please understand that refunds take time. Here's the typical journey:
- Step 1 – Request Submitted: You cancel via your Snowfly Deals account or contact our support team. (Same day)
- Step 2 – Provider Review: Airline or hotel reviews your request based on their policy. (7-14 business days)
- Step 3 – Refund Approved/Denied: Provider makes decision. We notify you immediately. (1-2 days after decision)
- Step 4 – Funds Processed: Once approved, refund is sent to Snowfly Deals and then to your original payment method. (10-20 business days)
- Step 5 – Bank Reflection: Your bank or credit card issuer takes additional time to show funds. (5-10 business days)
Total estimated time: 4 to 8 weeks from cancellation request to money back in your account. We know this is long, but it's standard across the travel industry.
How Refund Amounts Are Calculated
Your refund amount depends on several factors:
- The airline or hotel's cancellation penalty (varies by fare type and how close to travel date you cancel)
- Non-refundable taxes, fees, or surcharges (e.g., airport taxes, fuel surcharges, GST)
- Snowfly Deals service fee (typically non-refundable, unless the provider fully cancels)
- Any discounts or promo codes applied at booking
Cancellation Fees & Penalties (Examples)
These are typical ranges based on major providers. Always check your specific booking confirmation.
- Domestic Airlines (IndiGo, Akasa, SpiceJet, Air India): Cancellation fees from ₹2,500 to ₹5,000 per passenger, or full fare loss for "non-refundable" tickets
- International Airlines (Emirates, Qatar, Thai, etc.): $75 to $500+ per passenger depending on fare class
- Hotels (Domestic & International): 1 night's charge up to 100% of stay if canceled within 24-72 hours of check-in
- Snowfly Deals Service Fee: $25 (approx ₹2,000) per booking — refundable only if the provider completely cancels without offering alternatives
Flight Cancelled by Airline – What Are Your Rights?
If an airline cancels your flight (not due to weather, strikes, or unrest), you typically have these options:
- Free rebooking on the next available flight (same airline or partner)
- Full refund to original payment method (regardless of original fare type)
- Travel credit/voucher for future use (sometimes with bonus value)
- For flights departing from the EU/UK, additional compensation (£220-£600) may apply under UK/EU Regulation 261/2004
Voluntary vs. Involuntary Cancellations — Important Distinction
- Voluntary Cancellation: You choose to cancel (change of plans, found cheaper fare, etc.). Refund limited to provider's voluntary policy — often minimal or zero.
- Involuntary Cancellation: Airline/hotel cancels or changes your booking significantly. Full refund or rebooking is typical.
Why We Strongly Recommend Travel Insurance
Many refund disputes can be avoided with comprehensive travel insurance. A good policy covers:
- Trip cancellation due to illness, injury, or job loss
- Medical emergencies during travel (especially important for international trips)
- Flight delays and missed connections
- Lost or delayed baggage
- "Cancel for Any Reason" (CFAR) — typically 50-75% refund even for non-refundable bookings
Snowfly Deals offers travel insurance during checkout. It costs a fraction of your trip cost and saves immense stress.

Refund Currency & Exchange Rate Notes
Refunds are processed in the original currency of payment (USD or INR). If exchange rates have changed between booking and refund date, the refund amount may differ slightly from your original charge due to bank conversion rates. Snowfly Deals has no control over these fluctuations and is not responsible for currency exchange differences.
Disputes & Escalations
If you believe your refund was processed incorrectly or unfairly denied, please contact us within 30 days of the decision. Provide your booking reference number, payment receipt, and any supporting documentation. We will escalate the issue with the airline/hotel and respond within 15 business days. For unresolved disputes, you may file a complaint with your credit card provider or consumer forum.
Changes to This Refund Policy
We may update this Refund Policy occasionally. Changes are effective immediately upon posting to this page. For bookings made before a policy change, the version in effect at the time of your booking applies.
